Nebraskans are tired of politicians ignoring the will of the people and undermining what we’ve voted for.
The Respect Nebraska Voters ballot initiative will change the number of members of the Nebraska Legislature required to undo or change voter approved laws from two-thirds of the Legislature to a four-fifths supermajority.
It also protects our freedom to vote on important issues facing our communities by strengthening protections for the ballot initiative process, preventing politicians from passing laws that restrict the people’s ability to bring initiatives.

We won! Lincolnites passed source-of-income protections!
Thanks to your advocacy and the Lincoln For Fair Housing coalition, 66% of Lincoln voters approved source-of-income protections in housing prohibiting landlords and property managers from turning away tenants based solely on how they pay rent!
Now, Lincoln joins the 22 states and 128 cities and towns in the United States to help more folks access safe, affordable, and accessible housing. Lincolnites will no longer be denied a home because of how they pay rent. The passage of this initiative will immediately increase their chances at safe, affordable housing.
